Wind damage is one of the disaster of natural disasters, how to calculate windeffect on the buildings is one of the hot issues in the both the theory and engineeringdomains. The use of solar energy is an important direction of future energydevelopment in China, curved mirror is a kind of reflector tracking the sun on supportof steel structure by regulating its azimuth and elevation in real time. When curvedmirror works, the sunlight reaching the lens must be guaranteed to always reflect tothe collecting tube accurately. Usually solar power system locates at spacious&smooth ground where atmosphere flow affects greatly on the body for its greatstrength. Under the action of wind, curved mirror is easy to be deform and affect thefocusing accuracy, Curved mirror is also easy to be destroyed when work under strongwind. So it’s necessary to study curved mirror’s surface wind load, and to ensure thewind resistance and stability of curved mirror when work under a certain wind speed.Especially for a curved mirror group which is constitutes by a lot of the numbers ofcurved mirror, must to consider the interference effect between adjacent curvedmirror. The wind effect of curved mirror under typical operating situation was studiedwith the technology of numerical simulation, including28operating conditions of acurved mirror and4operating conditions in0°wind direction of a curved mirrorground, to obtain wind pressure distribution of the test mirror and interference effectof curved mirror group. The principal theories and calculation methods on thecomputational wind engineering are summarized at first. And numerically simulatedthe flow-field of a curved mirror by FLUENT which is an analysis software ofcomputational fluid dynamic, obtained wind pressure distribution and thecharacteristics of wind environment. Comparisons between the numerical simulationand the wind tunnel test are presented in detail, described the reasons leading to thedifferences. Based on this, set up a method of simulating the interference effect, andsynthesize the numerical simulation result of a curved mirror ground to obtain theinterference effect characteristics.
