Distributed Collaborative Design, an advanced organization pattern of productdesign and development, can realize the developing of collaborative design amongcooperative members at the different time and place. This thesis, with the object ofChina Tobacco Machinery Group Corporation Limited (CTMC), the related ideas andmanagements of Distributed Collaborative Design and the current state of informationbuilding and product design in CTMC, tends to design a platform of DistributedCollaborative Design which is quietly fitted into the practical need of CTMC. All ofthis done is promote the product design, management as well as reduce the cost.This thesis focuses on four parts: firstly, it designs a hardware system of theplatform of Distributed Collaborative Design in CTMC. With the guide of basic theoryof Distributed Collaborative Design and its applicated achievement at home and abroad,this part deeply analyzes the current state and problems of CTMC’s informationization,and proposes the requires of the basic network, hardware configurations and scheduleof data back-up. Secondly, some important functions’ design and its realization processthis platform needs are elaborated. Starting from the practical need of developingdistributed collaborative design smoothly and successfully, this thesis puts theemphasis on elaborating the design and realization process of such functions as remote–data-synchronization function, unified-standard-parts-library function, unified-project-management function, data-released-to-manufacturing-system function,BOM-management function. Thirdly, it unifies the implementation criteria fordistributed collaborative design. Based on the basic characteristics of applicatedsoftware of Windchill PDM in PTC Company and the design conventions in CTMC,this thesis also carries on the efficient unification for the product structure design, thebuilding of the3D CAD model of standard parts, the defining of the parts’ attribute.Fourthly, business processes of distributed collaborative design are recreated. In orderto carry on distributed collaborative design efficiently, this thesis takes on theoptimization, integration and recreation of relevant business processes. Such processesas design process of distributed collaboration, the design alteration process, the workprocess of product’s data management and the process of the product’s materialinefficiency and replacement are included.
