With the development of computer technology, economy and science and technologyhave already begun to globalization. The modern advanced manufacturing also requiresCAD technology focusing on collaborative CAD to direction of networked andglobalization. Under the network environment of the collaborative modeling canstrengthen exchanges and cooperation of the internal of enterprise, also betweenenterprises. It make full advantage of teamwork by product designers which helps reducetime consumption of products design and improves work efficiency. Thus, the thesis,focusing on semantic description and application strategies of collaborative modeling,plays an essentially important role in founding theoretical basis for enterprises withdifferent locations and enterprises with heterogeneous platform, heterogeneous data andheterogeneous software resources.Based on research production up to date, for collaborative modeling the keytechnologies of collaborative design, the method semantic expression of product model andcollaborative modeling process were studied. The model feature semantic descriptionbased on XML and data exchange method of XML incremental semantic transmission havebeen put forwarded. A collaborative modeling prototype system be built to this method isverified.The main research content in this paper includes:(1) The essence of the system requirements are analyzed, the required functionmodules and the level classification of the system have been defineded. Then bycomparatively analyzing the structure of the collaborative modeling system, an optimizedstructure of collaborative modeling system is presented.(2) The tree structure and information of the model designing products are analyzed, which leads to the definition of the collaborative modeling basing on the characteristicsand the semantic expression method on XML. Father and son feature driven approach isproposed for improvement of designing efficiency and convenience of modelreconstruction. The thesis also gives an analysis on the way of recognition to describesemantic features and on the strategy of data exchange about incremental semantic, whichall bases on XML.(3) The thesis also gives a detailed analysis of the implementation process ofcooperative observation, such as the SAX parsing and display process of local clientcoming from the products modeling data described by SML Schema, the identification andextraction process of modeling feature data, and the data exchange process of modeling.Finally the thesis tries to complete the real-time data exchange of model and otherdesigning information, and to display the product model in another place, thus achievingcollaborative model.(4) With AutoCAD2010as its kernel, CM-AutoCAD collaborative modelingprototype system is constructed by using C++language and component technology.Application on the synergy model and the working process of the system are introduced,and the feasibility and validity of the XML semantics description method are tested.
