The actual vibration signals of the rotating machinery are usually unsteadysignals with non-linear, non-Gaussian, especially when the equipments have thefailure. The nature of the local mean decomposition (LMD) method is that, themulti-component signals are adaptively decomposed into a number ofsingle-component, amplitude-modulated and frequency-modulated signals, so it isvery suitable to process the non-stationary signals. Either energy of structure, thereare a number of differences among the signals, where they come from differentdirections when on the same cross section. So they can not adequately reflect the realsituation of the device, thus, the development of full information technology hasbecome an irresistible trend. This article will combine the full vector spectrumanalysis technique (which is one of the full information technology) and LMDanalysis method, then, it will be applied to the fault diagnosis of rotating machinery.The main research work is as follows:1. Introduces the theoretical numerical algorithms of local mean decomposition(LMD) analysis method, shows the flow chart of local mean decomposition (LMD)analysis method, its effectiveness is validated by simulation.2. Because the single-channel signal can’t comprehensively analyze the featuresof the fault, the full vector spectrum technology is introduced, which is based ondual-channel homology full information technology, and elaborated on its theoreticalbasis and numerical algorithms. Propose a new time-frequency analysis methods-fullvector local mean decomposition (FVLMD) method by combining the full vectorspectrum technology and the local mean decomposition analysis method, the specificalgorithm and flowcharts are given, its effectiveness is validated by simulation.3. Summarizes the failure forms and spectrum characteristics of the gear drive.The gear tooth broken fault signal is analyzed by the full vector local meandecomposition (FVLMD) analysis method, the results show that this method issuitable for the analysis of the gear fault signal. 4. Summarizes the failure forms and spectrum characteristics of the rollingbearings, the characteristic frequency table of the bearing damaged components isgiven. The rolling bearing fault signal is analyzed by the full vector local meandecomposition (FVLMD) analysis method, the validity and effectiveness of themethod is proven.
