In variable head diversion works, a common hydraulic problem is energy dissipation structure adaptability,under different water heads,the discharge and energy dissipation effect can meet design requirements.How to effectively solve the energy dissipation effect of different water conditions is a problem in variable head.In this paper, the energy dissipation of different water conditions is object of studying. The hydraulic model in lab is made according to the basal data that is offered by design unit. By the hydraulic model, to study the hydraulic characteristics of pressure pipe section、the orifice section、open channel、bucket and eroding of a river lower reaches etc, then the energy dissipaters are selected according of the theory in the conditions, the bucket type is selected, and test of the modification scheme is developed. Finally a kind of reasonable bucket arrangement and size is proposed for the project.In this article, a type energy dissipater, bucket and guide wall is put forward. From the downstream flow pattern of deflecting bucket、the distribution of flow velocity、the impact of water jet、the flow depth distribution of trajectory etc, to prove the energy dissipation effect of deflecting bucket.This study proposes a appropriate type curve for cancellation, bucket and guide wall, due to the deflecting of bucket function, the aberrancy phenomenon of water jet from channel is elimination, water tongue placement is improved obviously, and the flow configuration of different water conditions is good, the guide wall provide a very good supporting role to the flow return river course.
