With the rapid development of economic society and the acceleration of urban construction, the Chongqing highway traffic rapid growth, especially the ray within outer ring expressway traffic volume is increasingly intensified, and it formed a serious constraint to the external ring of the expanded function and the industrial economy era city further agglomeration. As Chongqing efforts to create "an hour economic circle" of the economic subject and industrial agglomerations, the three-ring downtown area within the current connection hold four lanes ray highway traffic capacity is limited, at the same time it also faces the rapid growth on long-haul "inter-city traffic" and short "urban transport". Therefore, how to give full consideration to the inner ring with three-ring between land development and population problems, solve the industrial agglomeration brings the rapid growth of traffic demand, will be "open" Chongqing construction of a big problem. And this article research is based on this.On the basis of combining a large amount of investigation data the paper analyses the status quo of the Three-ring ray within the highway in Chongqing from different aspects. Combining with the regional layout planning in Chongqing the paper using four stages traffic prediction method, gravity model method and so on many kinds of forecasting method analyses the traffic demand about Chongqing three-ring ray within the highway.On the basis of analysis to which, the Chongqing-Suining, Chengdu-Chongqing, Chongqing-Changshou and the Chongqing-Guizhou expressway as the backing from the traffic situation, the paper analyze the ray within Chongqing three-ring highway adaptability from the traffic situation, development trend and feasible retrofit scheme. In addition to this, the paper go on the further research to guarantee the unobstructed Of the three-ring ray highway within.From this, it reached the systemic ascension within the third ring road in Chongqing trunk road network traffic capacity, to prevent rays, the purpose of the highway traffic jams.
