In order to solve the quality problem of asphalt pavement in using, reduce roaddiseases and improve the using performance of the road, adding modifier to theasphalt has become one of the important means,adding diatomite as a kind ofmodifier to the asphalt mixture could improve the road asphalt roadbed, andcompared with common polymer modifier, the diatomite asphalt modifier has muchspace to develop for it could greatly reduce the cost of the modified asphalt, There hasbeen some research about the development and use of diatomite asphalt modifier,both at home and abroad, but for how to detect diatomite content of diatomitemodified asphalt mixture, has not seen a clear method.learning basic properties and characteristics of the diatomite on the basis ofdomestic summarizing and foreign diatomite related information; This paperdiscusses micro modification mechanism of diatomite through the research of DSC,SEM microscopic analysis, SEM analysis showed that certain content range ofdiatomite could form a uniform and stable system with asphalt. According to SHRPtest results of different contents of diatomite modified asphalt indicate that the contentof diatomite modifier within a certain range could be benefit to deformation resistancein high temperature of asphalt. By high temperature, low temperature and waterstability test results of different contents of diatomite modified asphalt mixture provethat adding suitable amount of diatomite can effectively improve the pavementperformance, the appropriate mix content of diatomite modifier was17through acomprehensive comparative analysis of the test results.At the same time, put forward corresponding detection methods and qualitystandards of two important technical indicators: the silica content of diatomite andspecific surface area. Apply solution adsorption method in detection of diatomitespecific surface area, puts forward the method of hydrochloric acid insolubles in thedetection of diatomite of silicon dioxide content. Detect diatomite content in modifiedasphalt mixture by building relationship between extraction powder solubility anddiatomite content in the mixture of hydrochloric acid insolubles method. Theverification results of the test shows that hydrochloric acid insolubles method candetect the content of diatomite accurately and effectively.The diatomite modified asphalt mixture ratio design and diatomite modifiedasphalt pavement construction technology Of chongqing XiangJiaPo to HuangJueYainterchange bridge are introduced, the pavement is adapt to widely range of climate, construction of diatomite modified asphalt road is simple that could be done almostwithout any special equipment, In summary,the diatomite is suitable for large-scalepopularization and application as a kind of good asphalt modifier.
