In the paper, we choose WuLaTeQianQi country of the Yellow River as the research area. Firstly, based on the principle of optimal band combination, the paper presents a method of the best band combination, which is based on the single band dataset, the correlation coefficient, the Optimum Index Factor and information entropy in the matlab environment. We derive that TM542is the best band combination in flowing period and TM543is the best band combination in frozen period. To a great extent, they can reflect the features of information after the combination of remote sensing image. This will be advantageous to classify different features. They lay a foundation for the image classification. Secondly, we make a comparison of the advantages and disadvantages in all the classification results. We choose maximum likelihood classification results as the final result. Then, we make a thematic map. By observation of the thematic map, we can describe the distribution of ground objects, and the area of different features can be calculated in frozen period by using remote sensing technology. These works provide the technical support for ice prevention. Finally, image splicing technology provides the best solution at different periods and different angles of two or more images matching. Based on the existing mosaic techniques, we choose the SIFT algorithm and RANSAC algorithm on feature points matching. RANSAC algorithm can remove the false matching points. If so, we can improve the accuracy of matching. The two-way linear interpolation can smooth image splicing place to strengthen the visual effect, so that we can get the panorama image.
