Large complex steel structures have been widely used in domestic public buildings in recent years. It has been proved that large-scale structures have several advantages which include fast construction speed, high mechanization degree and obvious economical effect. However, the structure’s complex mechanical characteristics and emergence of new technologies and structures make construction method more complicated. Furthermore, structure’s stress state during construction may not be the same as the designed results assumed. Therefore, structure monitoring is significant for construction process.Based on the project of Tianjin International Conference Hotel and according to structures’ characteristics, the main work of this paper are as follows:(1) Taking large-span truss and roof as research objects and considering two different construction and unloading plans, this paper analyses the effects of the different constructing order on the stress distribution and deformation of structure by MEKA which is in the finite element program ANSYS. Reasonable plans are advised to be chosen to guide the actual construction in the paper.(2) Based on classical temperature stress calculation method, this paper deduces the relationship between temperature stress and actual strain. Factors which influence temperature effect of large span truss are studied. Based on the research results above, thermal stress calculation formula for large-span truss is summarized.(3) The whole construction process is analyzed by FEM. In order to make results of simulation applicable in construction quality control, most of the analyses focus on stress and displacement of large span truss, stress of steel plate shear wall stress and internal force of frame column. And the results are summarized.(4) According to construction monitoring data, mechanical features of the structure during construction are analyzed. Then monitoring data are compared with calculated results.
