Safety And Reliability Evaluation Of Distribution System With EV Charging Load

The environmental and energy concerns is increasing in recent years, our country attaches great importance to the development of the EV industry and put forward a series of corresponding development strategies. In this context the EV charging load could become the largest proportion of load in the future. For this purpose, this paper analyzed the basic form of electric vehicle charging facilities, the corresponding power supply and operation mode, a future development evaluation of the number of EVs and their charging facilities is provided according to authoritative forecasts; Focusing on the residential area, a study from safety and reliability aspect is made.For the safety evaluation, this paper build pscad simulation model for the residential system and EV charging load, then through different plan, different amounts of EV charging load are added to the residential distribution system. After that, an evaluation of the impact on the electrical gird is carried according to different plan in terms of circuit overload, overload of the transformer and bus voltage limits. At the end, an advice of EV entry plan is provided.For the reliability evaluation, this paper built the EV charging load power model in different locations based on different charging mode, charging need,initial charging time and initial SOC. Then, through IEEE-RTBS6reliability test system, a comprehensive reliability evaluation on the impact of different charging locations, charging mode and penetration rates is made. At the end, an advice of EV penetration rate and charging mode is provided.
