As the reverse distribution of China’s energy resources and energy demand, the de-velopment and utilization of emerging generation technologies such as wind power should be achieved in accordance with the way of "large-scale centralized grid-the long-distance high-voltage transmission". Wind power and solar power are with the basic characteristics of uncontrollable output, low energy density, large-scale storage, which makes the development and utilization of new energy is essentially different from tradi-tional energy. The large-scale centralized grid of new energy will has a negative impact on the stable, economic and efficient operation of power system, which will change the meaning and mechanism of power system’s planning, construction and operation, bring-ing new problems and challenges for the traditional power planning, construction, opera-tion.This paper firstly describes the characteristics of emerging power generation tech-nologies and its foreign development status, and elaborates the influencing factors that affect the development of emerging generation technologies (wind power, solar power and biomass power generation technology from the internal and external environment, laying a theoretical foundation for the later study. Secondly, this paper defines life cycle boundary of emerging power generation technology by full life cycle assessment method, evaluates its economy combined with the its costs and benefits, and the implementation benefits, restricts factors and promotion prospects of emerging power generation tech-nology are analyzed. Thirdly, based on the risk identification of emerging power genera-tion technology, a comprehensive evaluation model of fuzzy-gray clustering trigonome-tric model is constructed combined with the characteristics of the emerging generation technologies, so as to assess the risks faced by the emerging power generation technolo-gy development. Finally, the security system of new power generation technology is stu-died from the aspects from policies and regulations, market protection mechanisms and manage system security. The results show that under the conditions of large-scale new energy, the health and orderly development of emerging generation technologies needs to take into account their economic benefits, effectively recognize its risks faced by its de-velopment, and establish and improve the development of security system for new power generation technology.
