Nowadys the ice accretion which occured on the wind turbine has attracted more and more attention in the world,but China has a slow progress in the field of numerical simulation and aerodynamic performance analysis of ice accretion on wind turbine airfoil. This paper simulate the ice accretion on the wind turbine airfoil NACA63418at the specific meteorological conditions through the CFD,then the result show two different ice shape,which is called rime ice and glaze ice. The analysis of aerodynamic performance of the clean and iced airfoil is simulated with FLUENT. The change on the aerodynamic performance which is caused by rime ice and glaze ice is compared in this study. Compared with the clean airfoil,iced airfoil has a changed geometry shape and this will lead a early flow separation after the iced area,which can take airfoil stall advance and bring a fluctuation at the pressure distribution on the wing surface.The aerodynamic characteristic reduce obviously, which has a low lift-drag ratio.The biggest decline of lift coefficient is57%.It is clearly seen the deterioration of aerodynamic characteristic caused by glaze ice is much more serious.The resarch in this paper can provide a fundamental basis for the fundamental research of ice accretion on wind turbine airfoil,and provide a reference basis for the anti-icing system on wind turbine.
