With the rapid development of our country telecom industry, the number of TBSis increasing year by year. The internal equipment of TBS operates uninterrupted allthe year, and the heat dissipating capacity of TBS is large and concentrated, whichleads to more energy consumption. Energy saving problem in TBS has graduallybecome the focus of the whole society.Energy storage systems can effectively solve the problem that energy supply anddemand do not match in time or in intensity, and effectively improve energyutilization of the system. The running time of the air conditioner in base station canbe greatly reduced by using natural cold source in transition season and winter. A newkind of air conditioning system integrated phase change energy storage withventilation cooling has been developed by our research group, which can achieve fivedifferent working modes: ventilation cooling code; refrigeration code; cold storageand refrigeration; ventilation cooling code; cold storage code; cold release mode,according to the change of climate conditions and diurnal temperature throughout theyear.The building energy simulation software DeST is used to analyze the load of thetypical TBS in Changsha, and the appropriate ventilation volume is gained byventilation simulation in base station, the energy saving potentials of ventilationcooling technology was analyzed in Changsha. The correlation between storage timeand storage radius was built to determine the dimensions of PCM module by using thethermal resistance method that can approximately solve phase change problem.Adaptive application is analyzed by studying the power tariff and climate features infive climate zones. At last, taking Changsha as an example, the payback period ofventilation facilities and phase change energy storage equipment is calculatedaccording to the annual operation control strategies of the new kind of airconditioning system.
