With the rapid development of the city, landscape in Changsha changed greatly in the mid-1990s,but due to the increasingly significant phenomenon of convergence landscape,there was a trend of the loss of regionalism in Changsha urban public space.Tangerine Island as a window to show the image of Changsha shows a clear local image through the culture, history and other cultural elements in Changsha and it has a positive guidance for processing where the image of its study on the creation of local and modern style of urban public space. The image studies of Tangerine Island extend the theory and research paradigm of landscape architecture, it can enrich the theoretical system of landscape studies.In order to conclude and summarize the image categories and performance practices of Tangerine Island, the paper uses generalization and abstraction’s ways, lasted Synchronic study ways, external and internal research of image study methods and so on as well, to analysis and studies the historical context and the Island status quo landscape types of Orange Island Tangerine.The following conclusions:(1) The landscape images of Tangerine Island from the geography, culture, history and otheraspects of Changsha can be divided into5types:the cradle of the revolution,the trails on study,historic value,Jiang Tian twilight snow,tangerine continents.(2) The main performance practices of image Tangerine Island:the reference of metaphor symbolizing traditional art,the symbols and metaphors about ethos,the reproduction creation of collective memory,the retention and transpose of historical relics and other aspects.(3) Tangerine Island has shown to get public recognition of the landscape image, and it is to demonstrate the spirit of the times and the regional landscape, showing the city of Changsha indigenous culture swinging back.(4) Tangerine Island landscape image summed up as:Continuation of the urban memory.
