| Rectangle elbow is an important component of large and medium-sized busframe. According to different positions in the frame, rectangle elbows havedifferent strength requirements. By reducing frame’s volume and weight whilesatisfying the strength requirements of different parts, high-strength steel rectangleelbow achieves the goal of lightweight design of automobiles.Reinforcement of high-strength steel rectangle elbows is achieved byinduction heating. This paper focuses on key techniques of the high-strength steelrectangle elbows’ induction heating process and covers four aspects: studies on therectangle elbows’ induction heating theories, numeral simulations of inductionheating process, design of induction heating devices and experimental researches.Based on the theory of electromagnetic induction, electromagnetic fielddistribution equation of rectangle pipe is derived and laws of temperature fielddistribution are presented.Numeral simulations of rectangle elbows’ induction heating process arecarried out. Based on static induction heating simulation, this paper studies theinfluencing rules to temperature fields such as different thicknesses and widths ofrectangle elbows. Through dynamic induction heating simulation, we study theinfluence of transmission speed on rectangle elbows’ mechanical properties.An induction heating transmission device and an induction coil for rectangleelbows’ induction heating is designed. The paper simulates the motion of inductionheating on the foundation of the designed device.Induction heating experiment is conducted based on the designed device. Weexperiment on induction heating process with different thicknesses andtransmission speeds of rectangle elbows, then we measure rectangle elbows’mechanical properties. Based on the result of experiments, the paper studies theinfluence of transmission speed and thickness on mechanical properties. Throughexperiments, the technological parameters of rectangle elbows’ induction heatingprocessing were defined, which meet different strength requirements of rectangleelbows. |
