Structural morphogenesis is an artificial process in order to find structural shapeswith artistic representation and rational mechanical performance via computing tools, which is based on mechanical and mathematics theories. Topology optimization is themost difficult and challenging section in the structural optimization design field, whichalso has the most vigor and vitality as a result. Structural morphogenesis based ontopology optimization methods, namely structural topology morphogenesis, can applyold methods to emerging scientific researches, which can rich the achievements ofmodern science and technology. The joint computing method is referred to a method which can solve structuraloptimization problems by the integrated use of a variety of computer softwares.Specially in this thesis, it refers to combine the powerful management SC softwareMATLAB with the powerful finite element analysis CAE software ANSYS in order toaccelerate the problem solving process by making full use of advantages of differentsoftwares after developing data interfaces such as some necessary skills in the modelsharing, some important agreements in the data transferring and so on.This thesis mainly deals with structural morphogenesis problems as follows by useof joint computing method on the basis of the above.First of all, developing the algorithm of structural morphogenesis. The developingmethod of this algorithm is diverse. Based on rigorous theory and method of calculatingmechanics, this thesis gets further development with the help of structural optimizationdesign, especially the research achievement of continuum structure topologyoptimization design.Secondly, developing joint computing method. This thesis chooses MATLAB andANSYS as the means of implementation, combining the related research achievementsof mechanics, mathematics and modern calculating technology together, and developinga corresponding data interface so that the two softwares can work together seamlessly.Thirdly, calculating typical engineering examples. This thesis calculates severalexamples whose working condition is similar to the actual engineering problems inorder to verify the feasibility of the above algorithm and method. It also verifies theapplicability of the two things by comparing the shapes calculated by computer andstructures designed by engineers or which have existed for a period. Finally, analyzing the algorithm and method themselves. After the algorithm andmethod are developed and can solve several problems, this thesis continues to do someresearches and analyses about themselves, mainly about their speed, accuracy and so on.The thesis also tries to find out the influencing factors of these features to makepreparations for improvements in the future.
