As a senior structural optimization method, topology optimization can provide a reasonable and enlighting structure form in the conceptual design stage. Therefore,researching on topology optimization method and expanding its application have great theoretical significance and practical value. Currently, research on topology optimization of continuum structure has mainly concerntrated in the static problems and few studies have involved the dynamic problems. Basing on the evolutional structural topology optimization,this paper studies the basic principle of the method and expands its application in dynamic problems.Firstly, the basic principle of the traditional evolutionary structural optimization method is studied. And the advantage in avoiding common numerical topology optimization problems of the improved method is verified by numerical examples. Secondly, the secondary development of the method with volume constraint and stiffness maximization is completed in ANSYS. The program part is compiled using ANSYS Parametric Design Language (APDL)and the graphical part is completed using User Interface Design Language (UIDL).Thirdly,the evolutionary structural optimization method is extended to the topology optimization problem of structure under transient dynamic loading. Structural stiffness optimization is performed with the objective of reducing the mean compliance during the whole loading history. Based on the analysis of the dynamic structural problem, the optimization model is established and the elemental sensitivity is obtained. The flowchart of the method is also figured. A numerical example for a cantilever is tested to prove the effectiveness of the proposed approach. Finally, the evolutionary topology optimization method in problem with the constraint of dynamic response is studied. The mathematical optimization model under the restriction of random dynamic response is established. The sensitivity formula of the mean square response is deduced. The methodology of the proposed method is provided. The numerical example results indicate that the proposed approach in this paper can sovle the topology optimization problem with the the constraint of dynamic response effectively.Through the above research on evlolutionary structural optimization method, the secondary development of the mehod is completed and the dynamic stiffness optimization problem and random dynamic response problem are sovled effectively, which have enriched the toplogy optimization part in ansys and broaden the application sope of the evolutionary structural optimization mehod.
