In recent decades, with the rapid development of economy, the proceeding ofurbanization and the requirements of people to improve the living environment, in our country,building energy consumption is rising year by year. Therefore, building energy conservation isvery significant because of the shortage of our energy resources. The area of existing buildingin Hainan is larger and larger year by year, it is low energy utilization efficiency and poorindoor thermal environment in existing building that make necessary e nergy efficiencyrenovation. Selecting existing buildings in Hainan as the research object, taking fieldinvestigation and computer simulation, etc. as the research method and combining withenergy efficiency diagnosis and potential analysis of prototypical buildings, this paper gotsome technologies of energy efficiency retrofit for existing buildings in Hainan. The mainresearch contents were as follows:1) In this paper, the basic information of various existing buildings such as residentialbuildings, office buildings, hotels, business buildings, comprehensive buildings, educationbuildings, hospitals, etc. in Hainan was investigated and analyzed, including structural formsof building envelope, performance coefficients of air-conditioning equipment, statisticanalysis on the acquired data was performed through mathematical statistics method, and thecharacteristics of energy-saving conditions of existing buildings in Hainan were presented.Based on the energy consumption statistical data, the main existing building types, residentialbuildings, office buildings and hotels were found and taken as the the research object.2) Based on the result of the investigation on existing building in Hainan, six buildingswere selected as prototypical buildings. The energy consumption simulation software DeSTwas used to calculate the air-conditioning energy consumption of prototypical buildingsthroughout the year. Typical buildings were diagnosed with ordinary buildings which were notup to the standard for energy conservation of residential buildings by custom budget method.3) Analyzed energy-saving potential of envelope for prototypical buildings, based on theanalysis of some technologies of energy efficiency retrofit for existing buildings inhot summer and warm winter zone and combined with the actual situation in Hainan, somesuitable technologies of energy efficiency retrofit for existing buildings were presented in thispaper, which would be helpful for building energy-saving for existing buildings in Hainan.
