Low rate wireless personal area network (LR-WPANs) as an important branch of wireless sensornetwork (WSNs) plays an indispensable role in industry, agriculture, military, intelligence homeautomation, medical and many other fields. The design of electric energy meter temperature detectionsystem is the application of LR-WPANs in the industrial field. The system acquires, transmits,monitors, alarms, storages and prints the energy meter surface temperature through the wireless sensornode and the monitoring software.Firstly, the paper designs a wireless communication protocol in electric energy meter temperatureautomatic detection system, which is composed of the design of a wireless sensor node topology, datatransmission model, channel access methods, and communication frame structure. The paperresearches TDMA channel access method and the synchronization method considering the problemsof terminal nodes energy efficiency, which reduces the listener power through partitioning the datatransmission time slots method.Then, the paper designs and implements the wireless sensor network node hardware and software.In the aspect of hardware design, the node is controlled by the system on chip CC2531F256, using theDS18B20collection of electric energy meter temperature and acquiring node battery power throughthe battery management chip DS2764. In the aspect of software design, the paper designs suchfunctions as the time management, memory management, node temperature collection, collection ofelectric quantity of battery, USB communication, Flash memory, LCD display and RF transmission.Finally, the paper designs and implements a monitor software system for the management of themonitoring process by using LabVIEW and MySQL as software development platform. The monitorsoftware mainly realizes the network management, terminal node fault monitoring, data processing,alarm management, report generation and others. In order to ensure the stable operation of the system,the paper designs the corresponding test program. The designs of the electric energy metertemperature automatic detection system meets the requirements after testing and approval.
