As the performance of aircrafts is improved with people’s needing,the amount of the electricequipment in the aircrafts is becoming bigger,and the heat from these equipments also become more.How to emit out the heat as the negative influence to pneumatic performance is small enoughbecomes the focus problem. The scientists have designed several kinds of environmental controlsystem to solve the problem, while heat exchanger whose property will affect the whole system is thecore component in these systems.The annular radiator studied in the paper just is one of the kind ofthe equipments. The studying of its cooling performance is helpful to design or optimize an annularradiator.The paper introduces how the radiator works and analyses how heat transfer happens, then givescalculation equations for each part in the radiator,lists basic equations which can be solutionaccording to the heat balance principle. The performance is calculated and analyzed for a specific sizeannular radiator in different working conditions after programming in C language,and simulated inFluent.The thought of using annular radiator for liquid cooling system is put forward andcalculated,simulated to improve the feasibility.It’s discovered that annular radiator has good heat dissipation capacity especially those withmore corrugated and shell when the cold air reverse flow.Relative to common radiator, the annularradiator effect less negative impact on aircraft, especially for those without shell.The results showthat if the mass flow of the cold air is higher or the temperature of cold air is lower, the performanceof the radiator will be batter. More corrugated and materials with high thermal conductivity is goodfor the radiation effect while it needs consider the pressure loss and structural strength.It’s a shorttime from starting the engine to the temperature of hot air in outlet of the annular radiator,this ishelpful for the performance of the system. Applying annular radiator to the liquid cooling system isuseful for the radiation effect of the system.
