| For the low water consumption, no pollution and other advantages, water mist fire suppressionsystem was widely used in ships, aerospace and other fields. In present, the main research methods ofwater mist fire suppression system include experimental research and numerical simulation. Due tothe limit of the precision of instrument and personal security, it’s difficult to get desired data. By usingnumerical simulation method to simulate the fire fighting process can obtain the detail change trend ofparameter in simulation space, such as temperature, concentration of water vapor and oxygen. Thispaper used the method of numerical simulation to study the performance of water mist firesuppression system. The qualitative judgment of the nozzle characteristics of water mist firesuppression system and system arrangement provided the research foundation for subsequent watermist fire suppression system design, test and actual application.The main content of this paper was as follows: brief introductions about the background of watermist fire suppression system, the mechanism of water mist fire suppression system, the range ofapplication, classification and research status of water mist system were given in chapter I. The basictheory of numerical simulation and the method of software were introduced in chapter II. Thefeasibility of the numerical simulation model was verified by the data of experiment. Based on theexperimental model and the effective mist flux theory, the inhibition of combustion efficiency of thedifferent characteristics of water mist was applied in chapter III. The fire suppression efficiency inpractical application was researched by numerical simulation of limited ventilation and obstaclebetween nozzle and burning surface. The method to raise the efficiency of fire suppression in differentapplication environment was put forward in chapter IV. The research achievements and prospectswere made in chapter V. |
