With the rapid development of industry, equipment with more power makes vibration with moreenergy, while the mechanical structure is also designed toward the light, which results in increasedvibration and noise problems in structure. If in structural design, it is predicted the trends of energyspread in the structure, we can solve the problem of vibration and noise, try to avoid repetitive designand experiment, and that the vibration noise reduction measures can be effective, which not onlyreduce the design cost, also speed up the speed of the design. Whether in aviation, aerospace, marine,construction industry or in the mechanical industry, general finite element method puts forward thedisplacement and force as the research variables, but as the frequency increases, which is difficult toobtain exact solution.This paper first introduces the principle of statistical energy analysis, the power flow theory andenergy finite element method, and the research progress in recent years, focusing on the energy finiteelement method, development and application situation. Energy finite element method is a kind ofnew method to be used to analysis structure of high frequency energy density distribution, points outthat the energy in the form of waves in the structure transfer, and uses finite element method todisperse integral structure, so as to get the interested points of energy information, so that the structureof the geometric characteristic and the damping characteristics can fully express. And then we can getcontrol equation of the cracked structure and its finite element form by the energy finite elementmethod, calculate the energy transmission coefficient and reflection coefficient of the structure andassemble total coefficient matrix,which for the cracked structure adopts the block model analysis,finally get the energy information. Compared with the traditional finite element method, theadvantage of energy finite element method is indicated in the structure of high frequency responsemodel in a simple and small amount of calculation; Compared with statistical energy method, theenergy finite element method predicts local damping or local loading structure of the local response,and then changes the local design, so it is the unique advantage to get in the structure of the highfrequency local response.
