The Steel-Net Pad Damper is the key technology for military aero-engine vibration mountingsystem with a relatively large damping including the friction hysteresis damping, which offers adamping effect in a very wide band. In addition, The Steel-Net Pad Damper has a variety of advantagessuch as strong anti-impact resistance, high and low temperature resistance, anti-oil ability, corrosionresistance, aging resistance, good maintainability, high reliability and so on. The Steel-Net Pad Damperhas been widely used in the aerospace field. This paper conducts a research on equivalent analysis andoptimization of Steel-Net Pad Damper application in the vibration mounting system.According to the previous identified parameter data, the steel-net pad damper model is simplifiedusing the complex stiffness, and the equivalent stiffness, equivalent damping parameters and dampingloss factor obtained by equivalent analysis are regarded as the basis of the finite element analysis andoptimization in this paper. The characteristics of the equivalent parameters versus frequency isdiscussed, and the accuracy of the equivalent analysis is verified with the finite element analysis andnumerical calculation. The preliminary design of the engine vibration mounting system is carried outby the I-beam structure simulation engine system, in the meantime, then the inherent characteristics offinite element model is analyzed.Optimization of the position for the steel-net damper in the vibration mounting system under hightemperature is conducted with the interactive calls of programs written by hand in MATLAB and thelarge commercial finite element analysis software Msc.Nastran based on the theory of forcetransmission rate. Moreover, the finite element analysis of the vibration mounting system before andafter optimization is carried on. The optimized system indicates an advanced performance, thus theeffectiveness of the optimization method is proved. New ideas and method for the optimization designof the Steel-Net Pad Damper installation in the engine vibration mounting system is provided, whichhas important engineering significance.
