According to the related standard and based on the domestic and foreignliterature, comparative study was done on the calculation differences of stabilityunder external pressure between on the pressure vessel standards at home and abroadfor the design of the vacuum insulated cryogenic vessel through theoretical analysis,the eigenvalue analysis and nonlinear buckling analysis of finite element numericalsimulation method for the typical vacuum thermal insulation under external pressurewas studied by numerical simulation and validated by experimental results. On thebasis of the research above, the strengthened influence law of critical pressure in formwas gained. The main works and researches were as below:(1) Comparative study was done on the differences in design and calculation ofpressure vessel standards at home and abroad used for vacuum thermal insulation ofcryogenic vessel stability under external pressure, and it is gained that the domesticexternal pressure calculation standard more conservative than abroad by verified fortypical vacuum insulated cryogenic vessel.(2) Numerical simulation research on differences of stability under externalpressure of vacuum insulated cryogenic pressure vessels was carried out in this paper.The numerical analysis model for vacuum insulated cryogenic pressure vessels wasgained by three ways: the eigenvalue analysis, the nonlinear buckling analysis andnonlinear elastic-plastic analysis. Besides, also get the critical load of cryogenicvessels under external pressure through two cases numerical calculation of stabilityunder external pressure. As a result, the calculation result matched with the trial result,which proved the reasonability of eigenvalue analysis in the finite element simulation.(3)Research on how different style and the moment of inertia of reinforcing ringinfluence the stability of external pressure on barrel also been carried out in this paper.The author adopted numerical simulation to calculate the analysis model set up byreinforcing ring of equal angle, T steel and flat steel, whose sectional area are thesame and the analysis ways are eigenvalue analysis and geometric nonlinear analysis. The result showed that three same sectional area of reinforcing rings have the samestrengthening effects on the external pressure of barrel.(4)Research on how strain strengthening technology influence the externalpressure of barrel also carried out in this paper. Numerical simulation towards thebarrel before and after strengthening was carried out through the eigenvalue analysisand the Geometric Non-linear Analysis. The author comparatively analyzed theresults, which showed that when the strengthening pressure is1.5-1.6timesofdesigning pressure, the strengthening pressure is lower than that of beforestrengthening, range below7%.
