Chongqing, as a leader of developing the western region, developed very rapidly inrecent years. Because of this, the estate industry has got a good development, whichalso benefited the paint industry. But the problem of paint stain has not been solved,which has become a big obstacle to application and promotion of the exterior paint.According to the research, the mainly form of paint stains are dust stratificationand sagging, almost all exterior paint of Chongqing buildings has such problems; fewbuildings has moldy and rain marks phenomenon. With some construction or other waysto improve the flatness of the wall can be greatly reduced dust stratification; saggingcan be solved through designing cornice flanging for the beams and parapet, ordesigning drip grooves for the windowsill.This study shows that architectural coatings of different emulsion structural typeshas great differences in stain resistance, in comparison the acid resistance, waterresistance, alkali resistance, stain resistance of acrylic, acrylic emulsion and acrylic, theexperimental results show that the acrylic emulsion has the best stain resistance ofexterior paint in the three emulsions.The PVC of exterior paint have a significant impact of coating’s stain resistance,the decline of coating reflectance values will decrease with the increasing of PVC at thefirst.At the moment PVC increases to45%, the decline of coatin reflectance valuereaches to the minimize points, and then,it has a sharp rise with the PVC’s increasing.This indicate that when the PVC≤CPVC, the stain resistance of paint will be improvedwith the increasing of PVC.The decline of coatin reflectance value will gradually decrease with the increasingof hydroxyethyl cellulose ether content, the stain resistance is increasing.When theproportion of associative and non-associative thickener goes to4:1, the decline of coatinreflectance value reaches to the minimize points, the stain resistance is the best. Whenthe proportion of propylene glycol content goes to5%, the decline of coatin reflectancevalue reaches to the minimize points, the stain resistance is the best.
