Hydro-mechanical variable transmission (HMCVT for short) is a new hydraulicpower and mechanical power flow parallel transmission, the transmission speedregulating characteristics, and can significantly increase the power vehicle fueleconomy and dynamic performance. Is now widely used in sanitation trucks,agricultural vehicles, construction vehicles, special vehicles for military, so it isimportant to study the social and practical value. In particular, as China’s urbanization,rising labor costs, an increasing number of working vehicles has been applied to thecleaning operations of the city. But working mostly adopt existing mature car chassis,then add specific cleaning device modified as, which makes the original car-enginepower loss when the cleaning job is large. In order to solve power problems powermatch when cleaning jobs and transitions, we made a study on hydro-mechanicalcomposite transmission, in order to improve the original car’s transmission system.First, the paper presents the current composite transmission research achievementsat home and abroad, conducted a comprehensive analysis of its basic characteristics.Secondly, on the basis of theoretical analysis of hydro-mechanical compositetransmission, combined with the original parameters and specifications, designed for aspecific working programme of hydro-mechanical composite transmission, mechanicalsystems and specific hydraulic volumetric speed control circuit schematic diagram, thenthe programme carried out a theoretical analysis of the basic characteristics of thedesign calculation.Then, introduced a new system–power bond graph modeling method, usingpower bond graph modeling theory to modeling of hydro-mechanical compositetransmission subsystems, on the basis of the entire hydro-mechanical compositetransmission power bond graph modeling. Volumetric speed control loop using20-SIMsimulation software, complex transmission system simulation of power bond graphmodel, basic characteristics analysis of hydro-mechanical composite transmission,verify the correctness of design and theoretical analysis, final dynamic characteristicsimulation analysis of composite transmission, came to the dynamic response ofcomposite transmission curves.Finally, with the basic components to build a hydro-mechanical compositetransmission test-bed, on the test bench, working on the design of hydraulic composite transmission speed characteristics, characteristics and efficiency power splitcharacteristic test and analysis of basic characteristics, such as to test results to verifythe correctness of the design.
