The mechanical characteristics of the reinforced concrete tall building with bearingcolumn transfer story under seismic action is rather complicated, because its structure inthe vertical direction is irregular, however, the building structure is widely used inmodern office residential modular high-rise buildings due to the use of the flexibility ofspace layout. The current Chinese seismic fortification criterion "no damage underminor earthquakes, repairable under moderate earthquakes, no collapse under severeearthquakes" can basically ensure the safety of structure, while it may result in the lossof normal function in minor and moderate earthquakes, causing economic loss. In orderto strengthen the security objectives of the structure seismic, improve the anti-seismicfunction and meet the security needs of different owners, the International Communitybegan to study and put performance-based seismic design method to use. Applying themethod of performance-based seismic design to the reinforced concrete building withbearing column transfer story can improve the reliability of the seismic design fortransfer structure, avoid seismic safety problems, and promote the development ofbearing column transfer structure technology.On the basis of mass reference bibliographies, two kinds of column transferstructure in common use are compared, namely the bearing column transfer with beamand bearing column transfer with truss. In detail, the comparison refers to themechanical characteristic, the calculation principle, the arrangement principle anddesign principles. Moreover, the principle to determining performance objective withthe Chinese and American codes is also compared in this context. At last, according tothe Chinese current code, the performance objectives of the bearing column transferstructure and the performance index under different performance objectives areconfirmed.In the paper, taking the transfer story of reinforced concrete tall building structurefor example, three kinds of transfer truss and one transfer beam are put forward. Besidesaccording to the principle of determining the performance objectives, the structuralperformance objectives are confirmed, and based on this performance objectives,SATWE software for seismic design structure is in use. In addition, the earthquakeresponses of the minor earthquakes, the moderate earthquakes, and the severeearthquakes are respectively analyzed by using finite element software Midas Building. At last, by comparing the seismic performances for different transfer structures, thecharacteristic of different transfer structures are revealed, and the kind of relativelyoptimal bearing column transfer story structure is recommended in order to providesome references for similar engineering design. |
