Urban construction in our country has been increasing together with the development ofnational economy.Relative standards has been more and more comprehensive anddetailed, meanwhile, public requrements on building design has no longer stay in thelevel of “stability-economical-goodlooking”. They pay more attention on deep-seatedqualities such as culture, geographical features, physical environment, structure nodesand so on. To fit the requrements of market, staff in architecture needs furtherexplorements so as to promote the development of architectural industry.As one of the most important section in architectural design, Building-color designhas been paid much emphasis on by architects and research staff in recent years.Success on building-color has great importance on people’s first impression on thebuilding. From urban color planning to single building, color-design not only reflect thecapability of architects, but also shows investigations on streets(even the wholecity).National standards on urban-color-plan and building-color-control have beenpublished in recent years, which promote the development of urban-color in a scientificway. But in the operation of specific projects, building color design still depends on theintention of designers and business owners,relative investigation has been done rarely,not to mention scientific professional support.Software widely used in architecture nowadays could fit most requirements such asdesign, calculation, construction and so on, but attenuation in atmosphere of buildingcolor is still at vacancy which lead to the divergence between design color and visualcolor, which is of much importance in the expression of building character. Inconstruction projects, such divergence could lead to visual difference which influencethe character of buildings, more importently, such appearances would break the balanceof the street had before.(in this article, visual difference on building color caused byweather, viewing angle, viewing distanceand so on are named building visual colordivergence, visual color divergence for short)This paper relying on the conclusion of NFSCResearch on Building Color Controlunder theinfluence of Daylight Spectrum and Atmospheric Attenuation. In the NFSCresearch, changes of colorwere measured under variables such as atmosphere spectrum,heliographic case, solar elevation angle, solar azimuth, viewing angle, observationdistance which were counted by computer and conclusion was found in the end.bymeans of computer programming, we convert the academic conclusion intosoftware program. In the procedure of operating, architects could get color conclusionby means of adjusting variables, so as to achieve the simulation of building color in realenvironment. On the other hand, the software could calculate the color proportions ofexsiting pics, helping architects to find the best option. By developing the software, it’sthe practical extention of the NFSC conclusion, and it fills in the blanks of buildingcolor attenuation in building design at the same time.In this paper, color-related software used in many fields were anylized, whichreflected the vacancy of visual divergence in building-color-design. By means ofexperiments and computer calculation, we found the trends of chroma values ofbuilding materials, which would be used as the basic data in the programming of visualdivergence of building color (VD-BC for short). The software was developed by Matlab7.12and Visio Studio2010. At the end of the program developing, experimental testwill be done to make sure the software is scientific available. Details are as follows:①Researches of software on color design;②Study on visual divergence of building color and relative research;③Measurements and analysis of chroma values of standard whiteboard underdifferent heliographic cases;④Measurements and statistical laws of chroma values of building materials underdifferent angles of incidence/observation;⑤Measurements and analysis of chroma values of materials of defferentobservation distance under daylight;⑥Thresholds of color divergence of human eyes under different distance;⑦Software requriements analysis and programming;⑧Verification of visual divergence of buildingcolor (VD-BC);Building color design is a comprehensive study containing many subjects,purposes of this article is to fit the vacancy of building visual color divergence, toprovide ways of research, there’s still inadequations in it which need further replenish.
