Imaging satellite constellation are more and more widely used in militaryreconnaissance, environmental monitoring and other fields. Compared to single-starmode, constellation has a larger coverage area, shorter revisit time, lower temporalresolution and lower investment risk, etc. Imaging satellite constellation with inter-satellite communication capabilities can improve the timeliness of the remote datareturn, so raised the mission planning of imaging satellite constellation.Mission planning plays a key role in the run-imaging satellite constellation, depending on user needs and resource constraints, making a good satellite imagingprogram to complete the task as much as possible.Paper analyzes the imaging satellite constellation imaging process andconstraints, and establish a model for imaging satellite constellation missionplanning problem. The model contains mathematical expressions of imagingsatellite constellation decision variables, constraints and objective evaluationfunction, such as the sun elevation angle and cloudiness level. Imaging tasks can bedivided into two types of point targets and regional targets by the size of theimaging target area. Regional objectives can not be complete by a single imaging,so studied area decomposition technique which based on Gauss projection, thetarget region is divided into a number of point targets. Mission planning can bedivided into single-objective and multi-objective in two ways, the paper studiedNSGA2algorithm and simulated annealing algorithm, and use them to solve themission planning problem of imaging satellite constellation.
