Steering system is the actuator of missile attitude control system, nonlinearfactors of it’s reducer has a serious impact on the accuracy of missile attitudecontrol system. Therefore, automatic measuring the nonlinear parameters ofsteering gear reducer and developing a measurement device to achieve thenonlinear parameters are meaningful to improve gear reducer design process andthe precision of steering control system even the missile control system.Based on the completed hardware and mechanical system, the software,which is a part of the steering gear reducer nonlinear parameter measurementsystem is designed and realized on this paper.Firstly, the design of the lower software system was proposed. Besides thesensor data acquisition module and data communication module, the feedbackcontrol of torque motor was discussed in detail.Secondly, the PC software system design was discussed. The PC softwaresystem framework was designed as well as the design and implementation of someunderlying software modules were expounded, such as data acquisition, processingand storage.Then, through studying the measurement principle of nonlinear parametersthat were owned by gear reducer, nonlinear parameter measurement process anddata processing algorithm were expounded. Measurement process was realized inDSP software and data processing was implemented in PC software. Nonlinearparameters were obtained, including intrinsic clearance, total backlash, frictiontorque, transmission error and torsion stiffness. Data processing algorithmsimulation was obtained using MATLAB. In addition, the system error of eachnonlinear parameter measurement experiment was proposed and compensated toimprove the measurement accuracy. Meanwhile, a new method to realize the errorseparation was proposed based on the power spectrum decomposition. It wasvaluable to achieve the separation and location of transmission error.Finally, by means of software testing and system testing, the functionalitywas verified and the measurement results of nonlinear parameters were obtained.Repeatability test was conducted by means of different kinds of reducers. The testresults showed that the system could achieve the measurement results of nonlinearparameters reliably in terms of a variety of steering gear reducers and themeasurement precision satified the design targets.In a word, the software system can coordinate the hardware system and themechanical system reliably to achieve automated measurement of nonlinear parameters on different types of steering gear reducers. It is meaningful to reducethe complexity of manual measurement and improve the accuracy, efficiency andreliability in the gear reducer measurement experiment. Therefore, this automaticmeasurement system of gear reducer has become a development direction ofmodern gear measurement system.
