CFD numerical simulation of spray two-phase turbulent combustion in engineering,such as energy, transportation, chemical industry and metallurgy as well as the aerospaceindustry in a wide range of applications, has become an important means of design, largeeddy simulation of spray combustion is toward the engineering application, mainly usedfor numerical simulation of indoor spray combustion engine and gas turbine combustion.The simulation model of spray combustion, there are certain drawbacks, can not show thecomplete characteristics of spray combustion. Simulation study on combustioncharacteristics of a single droplet based on this, using FLUENT6.0simulation software,Combustion simulation provides a better foundation for spray. Simulation of universalsignificance for most of the liquid fuel, this paper chose ethanol fuel. Zhou’s simulationresults with the proposed three flame modal all-inclusive, half a pack of flames andparachute flares correspondence, fully in line with the real flame. One-step turnkey finitereaction rate model is adopted to simulate the different relative velocity, particle size,ambient temperature conditions of a single droplet burning. For full surround combustionmode, the simulation results of flame radius compared with Zhou’s theoretical analyticalsolution, Zhou’s theoretical solution is closer to in the numerical simulation results within90°,greater than90°, the theoretical solution can not accurately predict the flame frontalradius; Droplet surface partial evaporation rate is smaller than the rate of evaporation underthe tail of flame model; The combustion state of the drag coefficient of the oil dropletparticle drag coefficient is smaller than cold condition, can not simply apply the formulaWallis-Kliachko。 By simulating the characteristics of a single droplet combustion,improved combustion model for spray combustion has certain basic guiding significance,but also for the presence of internal-combustion engines and gas turbine engineeringimprovement and optimization of spray combustion also has a certain reference value.
