Study On The Fuel Consumption Measurement Method Of Commercial Natural Gas Vehicles

The car has provided people with the comfortable and fast travel and transportationservices, promoted the development of economics, but it has also brought about seriousenvironmental pollution, caused the growing shortage of oil resources which will create theenergy crisis. To alleviate the current serious resources and environment situation, allcountries in the world, including China, is exploring and developing the efficient, clean andsustainable developmental alternative energy and green energy. Natural gas vehicle hasbecoming the key point of the popularization and application of the energy saving and newenergy cars in our country with its clean and efficient combustion characteristics, a maturetechnology and rich resources. However, it lacks of a comprehensive fuel consumptionmeasurement method in the use of the natural gas vehicle, which seriously affects thepractical application effect of the natural gas vehicle.Based on the analysis of the application status and the fuel consumption situation of thecommercial natural gas vehicles in our country, combined with the technology status and thestructural characteristics of the natural gas vehicle, four aspects study has been done in thispaper: Firstly, the vehicle fuel consumption measurement application status at home andabroad were reviewed and analyzed, and grasped the application status and the fuelconsumption situation of the commercial natural gas vehicles in our country through theliterature research and field investigation and consultation, which was provided a referencefor determining the fuel consumption measurement method of the commercial natural gasvehicles; Secondly, this paper analyzed the advantages and disadvantages, the applicablescope and the application conditions of the commonly used fuel consumption measurementmethod of natural gas vehicle, and determined the fuel consumption measurement method ofthe commercial natural gas vehicle, combined with the structural characteristics and use ofnatural gas vehicle features; Thirdly, determined the fuel consumption test method of thecommercial natural gas vehicle, the test conditions, the test operation process, and thecalculation method; Finally, carried on the real road test with HIGER KLQ6109GCE4LNG city bus and HOWO ZZ4187N4217C1LB semi-trailer tractor, verified the feasibility of fuelconsumption measurement method of the commercial natural gas vehicle, and therepeatability and reproducibility of the test methods.This paper has put forward the fuel consumption measurement method which suits forthe commercial natural gas vehicles through the study. It will provide the technical support formaking the fuel consumption limits of the commercial natural gas vehicles and improving thefuel consumption access management system of the road transportation vehicles in ourcountry, which will have a significant effect on the automobile energy consumption reductionand the ecological environment protection.
