Bettering fuel economy of gasoline-fueled vehicle in China, can decrease oil consumption, reduce the expenses on road transportation, and alleviate air pollution caused by vehicle exhaust, so it is very important to better vehicle fuel economy in China. In the fuel-economy testing of in-use vehicle with the traditional method and on the vehicle allover performance testing line, however, there are two questions: one is that the installation of the equipment on the vehicle causes the change of gasoline supplying state, which does damage to the tested vehicle and its engine; the other is that the time consumed in the fuel-economy testing item is often from 5 to 10 times as long as the other testing items(e. g. Front lights testing),which couldn' t follow the modern vehicle testing tide that tends to be much quicker, more accurate and more convenient. To solve the above two questions as to follow the modern testing tide, the dissertation establishes a mathematical model which has 10 parameters, with the carbon balance method and with several pieces of hypotheses. And Experimental system is designed in the light of current conditions, using the multiple measurement which combines the direct measurement with the indirect measurement. Then a comparison is made in the dissertation between calculation fuel consumption based on carbon balance method and measured fuel consumption based on volumetric method, to find the connection between the two methods. In the process of the testing vehicle' s constant-speed fuel economy with the carbon balance method, this dissertation studies the following five items:1. It generalizes the research background of measuring vehicle fuel economy using the carbon balance method; and indicates the advantages of the method over the traditional ones; concludes the study experiences in...
