As its good security, environmental and economic benefits, drainage asphaltpavement is very popular in Europe and the United States, Japan and other developedcountries. However, in China, it doesn’t get rapid promotion, although some relatedtechnology researches are carried on and a number of highways are constructed. It isbecause the successful experiences can’t be copied in China mechanically owing to notonly the complex geographical and climatic conditions, but also the mainly using ofsemi-rigid foundation and the problem of heavy traffic. In order to solve this problem, thetheoretical and practical research of drainage asphalt pavement should be enhancedaccording to the situation of the development of the road in China. Combining with itscharacteristics of the structure, this paper analyzes the construction technology andtechnical requirements of the drainage asphalt mixture according to the control of thesmoothness and segregation.By studying the transfer rule of asphalt pavement smoothness, the factors whichinfluence the smoothness are found out, and the related pre-control measures wasintroduced. In combination with the construction of drainage asphalt mixture, theselection of raw materials and mix proportion designing are studied. As a result, both theselection standard of the coarse aggregate and modified asphalt and the process ofmixture ratio designing are determined. The method of selection and control of themixing temperature is provided by analyzing the mixing process of drainage asphaltmixture.Through analyzing the characteristics of drainage asphalt mixture, its particularity inthe process of construction is pointed out. The significance and methods of the staticcalibration and the calibration of aggregate supply system of asphalt concrete mixingplant is expound. The selection and management of mixing temperature and mixing timeis discussed and determined.Besides that, the working principle of the screed of paver is studied and the mathematical model of auto leveling system for paver is established. The quality of curvepaving operated by three different paving control method is discussed. Therefore, therespective applicable scope is determined.Comparing with the traditional asphalt mixture, the segregation phenomenon is morelikely to be found in the drainage asphalt mixture. On the basis of material property, thispaper analyzes the causes of segregation from three aspects including materialsegregation, temperature segregation and compaction segregation. Furthermore, in orderto the decrease segregation, the advice on not only the parameter setting and structureoptimization of the mechanical equipment, but also the perfection of the constructiontechnology is given.
