With the two hot issues that the oil energy shortages and environmental degradationunceasingly thorough along, it is becoming more and more imminent to seek some effectiveways to alleviate the two crisises. There are two effective solutions which are finding outperfect alternative energy and producing high quality fuel oil. As Methanol gasoline has a lotof advantages, such as low emissions, high octane number, good antidetonating quality,relatively rich resources and so on, it gets more and more attention. And the promotions of thepilot of methanol fuel cars also have been established in some areas of our country.As a more development potential of alternative energy sources in the contemporary, theapplication performance of methanol fuel is getting increasing attention. Because methanol ishigher octane fuel, methanol gasoline octane number is also higher, at the same time, it isneeded to tightly prescribe the saturation vapor pressure, acidity and corrosive and so on. Itmainly bases on vehicular methanol gasoline M85to research the methanol gasoline in thepaper.On December1,2009, China issued and implemented the GB/T23799-2009"thevehicular methanol gasoline (M85)", standard stipulated in the vehicular methanol gasoline(M85) in all kinds of technical requirements and test methods, the specification of methanolgasoline M85and extensive promotion of methanol have important influence. The maincontent of the article includes the following several aspects.This paper introduces the characteristics of methanol gasoline, while comparing with93#gasoline, it is becoming more significant to show that methanol gasoline is a more potentialalternative energy. Basing on the advantage of the physical and chemical properties ofmethanol, it also introduces the application of methanol gasoline in the problems such as coldstart, swelling property, gas resistance, and at the same time introduces briefly the solutions.According to GB/T23799-2009, it introduces the detection method of15technicalindicators that are specified in the standard in detail. Basing on the principle of detection, italso introduces the detection instrument and sortes and carding operation specifications.Whenthe test standard involves other standards and specifications, it will be unified arranged.Itprovides a set of comprehensive testing of the indicators directly operating specifications, inorder to provide effective detection methods and theoretical basis for operation for the furtherpromotion and application of methanol fuel.When it introduces detections of methanol content, in addition to gas chromatographywhich is regulated by the standard GB/T23799-2009, it also joines the currently widely useddetections such as the infrared atomic absorption spectrometry, mass spectrometry and so on. Basing on the detection principle, it also introduces testing instruments and testing process ofthe three methods, in order to detection of methanol fuel sufficient detection method.While the acidity index of93#gasoline is water-soluble acid or alkali, acidity index ofM85is based on acetic acidity meter, and its unit is mg/kg.Because of the detection index isdifferent, the test method and the content is also different. In the acidity testing standard of theM85, the unit of its calculation result is mass fraction, while the unit of the acidity of M85with acetic acid is mg/kg. It provides the conversion and unification of the units.
