With the improvement of people’s living standard, the higher-quality travel service isrequired naturally. Studies showed that the existing urban roads can’t meet the needs ofresidents’ convenient travel, although they are rich enough to buy more cars. Therefore, moreattention must be paid to the development of public transport. According to the survey, traveltime is the factor that attracts the most attention among the residents. So, in order to improvethe bus travel efficiency, further study on how to shorten the travel time and increase theaverage run rate of the bus is needed. A bus stop is an area which is inevitable for passengersin order to finish their travel from the start to the end. Data showed that run time in the busstation accounted for19%~21%of the total travel time. So, factors on bus delay in publictransit site were analyzed in details in this dissertation.According to the analysis of existing related research, firstly, find out the main factorsthat caused the bus delay based on the bus in-out station process distribution, which can bedivided into solid factors and dynamic factors. Measure the level of the bus delay in publictransit site according to the efficient traffic capacity. Secondly, analyze the solid factors in bustypes, bus station location, size and form, set rights of way. Most of all, this paper focuses onthe in-depth analysis of the dynamic factors. It refers to the stop location of the first bus, theinfluence of lateral buses and so on. Conduct the VISSIM simulation with the survey data, then, analyze the influence of all factors above to the bus delay in public transit site togetherwith the simulation results.
