As one kind of common fluid mechanical equipment, multistage centrifugal pump iswidely used in petrochemical industry, water treatment, oil&gas storage and transportation,energy generation and building, etc. And the interstage guide vanes as one important flowcomponents have a direct impact on the performance of multistage pump. So the purpose ofthis article is to get the distribution of the flow field in the guide vane and completeoptimization design of its parameters to improve the performance of pump.To assist in research of this topic, we use the KDW65multistage pump model andexperimental test platform provided by Kenflo Pumps Co. Ltd. And the entity model issectional multistage centrifugal pump with four-stage and three-outlet. We adopt the researchmethods including CFD numerical simulation, MATLAB optimization calculation andExperimental study.Firstly, we in turn use the software Pro/E, ICEM and CFX respectively to achieve the3Dmodels creation, meshing and numerical simulation. By means of CFD simulation, we get theflow field distribution of guide vane about pressure, velocity and streamline. By comparingthe date of experiment and simulation, we verify the accuracy of CFD simulation.Then we establish two kinds of commonly used model of the guide vane, and choose twokinds of medium oil and water. After the simulation calculation, we get the externalcharacteristic of pump under different flow rate.Finally, with the methods of CFD analysis of filtering and MATLAB genetic algorithmoptimization, complete parameters optimization design of guide vane. In method1we set updozens of different parameters of guide vane model to select the best one. And in method2we establish objective function based on the matching relation of impeller and guide vane tooptimize in GA Toolbox of MATLAB. In addition, this job can also help to explore theinfluence law of different parameters on pump performance.
