Microscope is widely used in biological field, medical field, chemical field and other industries.Automated microscope is more and more used, while the motorized nosepiece is one of maincomponents of it.Ultrasonic motor is used as system power source in the article, because of small size, lightweight, slow speed, torque, fast response, high precision control, run without noise, without magneticinterference characteristics of ultrasonic motor. This motorized nosepiece is not like conventionalmotor-driven motorized nosepiece; it is no deceleration devices, simple structure, and eliminate theerrors of transmission mechanism brings by traditional motorized nosepiece. Its main contents are asfollows:To begin with, the development of ultrasonic motor is introduced, and control technology. Foranother, the introduction of mechanical structure of ultrasonic motor direct drive motorized nosepieceis given; due to restrictions of the interior space of nosepiece, ultrasonic motor chose is transformedrationally. Furthermore, introducing of the design of position detector structure, we uses dual optcouplers, which is low-precision sensors, to achieve high positioning accuracy purposes. In addition,designing drive and control circuit, this is push-pull circuit. And matching circuit has a greater impacton efficiency of drive circuit, and then introducing the matching principle and calculation method ofthe matching circuit, to choose inductance and capacitance to maximize the efficiency of the drivecircuit. There are current protection circuit to protect drive circuit and serial communication circuitthat are responsible for communication with the host computer to achieve motorized nosepiece PCcontrol. Finally, the control flow of the motorized nosepiece is introduced. In order to achieve highpositioning accuracy and fast positioning, PID and fuzzy control algorithm is used. PC user interfaceis designed to meet motorized nosepiece’s remote control and intuitively show localization.Experiments verify availability, repeat positioning accuracy of motorized nosepiece isless than5m and positioning time is less than3s, and remote control of the motorizedrevolving nosepiece.
