Pressure relief valve is a very important component, which is almost used in everyhydraulic system. It’s mainly used to limit the hydraulic system’s pressure at a constantvalue or prevent overloading. As the development of the digital control techloligy,digital relief valve as a new pressure control hydraulic component has been payed moreand more attention. However, the research on digital relief valve is still at the initialstage, especially in the field of the high pressure and high frequency one, the research isvery limited. Therefore, the development of the high pressure and high frequency has agreat significance.The paper elaborates the development of the digital relief valve, the research status athome and abroad, and the key issues in present study. Provided an issue of high pressureand high frequency digital relief valve research due to the present one is still with lowpressure, low frequency and small flow.According to the design desitination, high pressure and high frequency, in the paperanalysed all the different kinds of digital relief valve and chose the most suitablestructure; calculated its key parameters, completed its structure in detail based on itsstructure style and drawed its3-D model in mapping sofeware; deduced itsmathematical model, analysed its static and dynamic characteristics and how the keyparameters influent its behavior by simulating; derivated the parameters optimizationmodel for the destination of the best dynamic response, calculated the optimumparameters; simulated the hydraulic system with the valve designed in the paper, whichis its typical application, and demonstrated the design’s feasibility.In a word, the paper designed a high pressure and high frequency digital relief valve, atthe same time built a method how to design and analysis a digital valve, not only thedigital relief valve.
