With the high development of consumer goods production in aviation and carindustries, more and more components with complex surface are applicable which higheraccuracy are required. And this results in a more serious requirement on measuringmethods during the production of the components. Aircraft engine blade is a kind of freeform surface with many parameters and compound configuration, measurements difficult.So an efficient, comprehensive and precise measurement of the blade surface is a keytechnology to improve the performance of the aircraft engine.Based on measuring profiles of integral impeller blade, the task space andmechanisms for measuring are analysed in the research. And mechanism analysis softwareis developed.In the beginning of this paper, mission requirements and limits in the surfacemeasuring of the engine blade are analyzed. According to these analysises, a reasonablesensor is choosed. Then the needed complete task space is created. On the basis of thistask space, the number of degrees of freedom and the position and attitude of themeasurement mechanism are achieved. At this result, a reasonable serial mechanismprograms are proposed.Secondly, with the requirements of measuring task and the performance indexes forthe blade, a serial mechanism P4R is determined. On the basis of the task space and theperformance indexes of blade surface measuring, design and optimization of the P4R’ssize is researched. By using of the D-H method, the linkage coordinate system is built andthe dynamics equations of this P4R model are analysed. After that the kinematicsequations are calculated through the Newton-Euler method. Then the function relationshipbetween forces(or moments) and acceleration are achieved. At the same time the positionsolutions and inverse solutions are verified by use of some software.At last, from a practical application point of view, a user-friendly, strongly interactivemechanism analysis software, called ROBOT SIMULATOR, is developed by use ofmatlab GUI. This software’s functions are automatic modeling, joint control and manual linear control within6(include6) degree of freedom. Moreover, working points teaching,inputting three-dimensional model and simulation analysis for serial robot can be achieved.Using the software, the feasibility of the mechanism P4R is verified and the measuringtask is simulated. It can be simply uesd and widely applicable.
