With the development of computer, modern manufacture technologies such ascomputer numerical control (CNC), computer fluid dynamics (CFD), finite elementanalysis have more and more extensive application in pump industry. But impeller3Dmodeling software as the important connection with modern manufacture technologiesmentioned above has not developed maturely.At present, commercial drawing softwares exited in China are mainly based on2DCAD, but geometric figures generated with CAD can not be used in modern manufacturetechnologies directly, and this makes CAD disconnection with CNC, CFD, CAM, andthen resultes in low efficiency, high cost of production, low company competition ability,making block to the development of pump industry in China. So it is very importment todevelop3D modeling software used in pump product specially.In this paper, based on3D superior surface modeling software UG NX6.0, a3Dmodeling software for centrifugal pump impeller, blad, impeller hydraulic model wasdevelopmented. The main research work and results are as fllowing:1. Through comparation of UG second development tools and methods, determineusing Visual C++6.0integrated environment to compile and selecting UG/Open API、UG/Open MenuScript and MFC united development method suitable for centrifugalpump impeller3D modeling software to develop UG;2. Using MFC of Visual C++6.0integrated environment to develop non-modeldialog box required design requirement, and complete man-machine interface of thesoftware to realization design parameters input, output and data transfer;3. According to centrifugal pump yiyuan design theory, and combined with softwaredevelopment method, the main impeller geometric size calculation module, axialprojection drawin module, space drawing module, entity model rendering module werecompleted, and realized the blade, impeller, impeller hydraulic model drawing usingparametic and API mapping function.
