The grain of charging combustion chamber in a solid rocket is a kind of high-energy material, so the remachining process is very risky. The grain is made of high polymer, and its ability of heat conduction and dissipating electrostatic is too weak. During the remachining process, the temperature and electrostatic voltage are sensitive to the back cutting depth of the cutting tool, feed rate, principal axis rotating speed and so on. Once the instant temperature and electrostatic voltage on surface of the gain exceeded the setting value, it would be likely to incur the firing and explosion accident. Therefore the research on variation of temperature and electrostatic voltage on condition of different back cutting depth of the cutting tool, feed rate, and principal axis rotating speed, is vital to set safe and reasonable remachining technology.After researching and analyzing the remachining technology in simulation remachining system, main drive, and feed servo system, we can conform that the main drive adopts the mode of AC flame-proof electric motor and frequency conversion controlling, and the principal axis rotating speed can execute stepless regulating. As the feed servo system is driven by AC servo, it can satisfy the demand of different feed velocity. In addition, the author designs and draws the part drawings of feed servo system in detail.The author designs frame structure, part electrical schematic diagrams and configuration monitoring interface of the system. The system is controlled by the master-slave control system based on IPC and PLC. Industrial Personal Computer (IPC) is the host computer and the Century Star configuration software is regarded as the remote monitoring platform and the lower computer in the system is FX type PLC. Two pulse distribution modules are used to control AC servo motor and achieve servo feed. D/A module is adopted to control spindle motor rotating speed. And A/D module is used to detect the parameters, such as the remachining temperature, electrostatic voltage, spindle motor rotating speed, spindle power. Then it uploaded these on-site datas to the host computer, realizing to gather and process datas instantly. By using the configuration software which has powerful ability to process datas, on-site datas could be saved in the historical database, providing important basis for analysing and sorting remachining datas.Debugging the system and performing the practical remachining experiment are involved. According to the effect of live remachining real gains, the remote monitoring system of simulation remachining propellant that has been developed, could simulate the real remachining process. This system is significant to guide practical remachining, reduce accidents, ensure the safety of operators and avoid the loss of properties.This paper summarizes the research and development work which have been completed and discusses the future work.
