Based on the prototype observation of wind wave and wave pressure on the Yueyang Nanhu Lake, analyzing the relationship between wave pressure and each wave elements, analyzing the spectrum properties of the wave surface, and find out the difference between every compute method, especially using the wavelet method to analyze the observation data and to obtain the three-dimension distribution properties of the wave and wave pressure in the time domain and frequency domain. Using the wavelet method to compute the wave pressure spectrum, and to analyze the wave pressure spectrum in different water depth and different direction. On the analyzing of the directional spectrum, it was based on the prototype observation on the Yueyang Niushihu Lake, and using the Fourier transformation to get the directional spectrum.Wave pressure is one of very important loads to the design and construction of the hydraulic construction. Analyzing the properties of wave pressure through the relationship between wave pressure and wave height, period, water depth and etc and comparing with the theory and the Linear Filtering simulating result. The wave spectrum could not only provide the statistical characteristic value of the wave elements, but also analyze the internal structure and the energy distribution of wave, as the result, the spectrum analyze was an important method to analyze the energy distribution and wave transform of the irregular waves. But the covariance function method and the traditional spectrum estimate method that based on the Fourier transform was regarded wave as a smooth random process, and both of them was reflected the whole frequency-domain property of the wave in all times, there are some limitation in the wind wave, wave breaking and some tremendous transformation research area, because the during the Fourier transformation there is none distinguishability in time-domain. But the wavelet transformation could overcome this defect perfectly, it has a much better distinguishablility both in time-domain and frequency-domain. The maximum spectrum value computed by wavelet transformation was bigger than the average value that corresponding to the same frequency, so it could cause a great influence to the security of the hydraulic structure, it will be considered carefully in thedesign period.
