Experimental Study Between The Emotion And Coal Miners’ Unsafe Behavior

As a national pillar industry, coal plays an indispensable role in the development of social and economic. But mine accidents still plaguing the development of China’s coal industry. The investigations and statistical studies of mine accidents show that from 1980 to 2010 the percentage of personnel accident with China’s coal mine accidents was above 96%. Therefore mine workers’ unsafe behavior is the main cause of China’s coal mine accidents. In order to reduce the coal mine production accidents and improve coal mine safety production level, we should minimize or eliminate the unsafe personnel behavior. Psychological factors have been considered one of the most important causes of coal miners’ unsafe behavior. Emotions have a negligible impact on human mental activity. Therefore, the influence of emotion on the miners’ unsafe behavior is important.In this study, the research summarize the relationship between emotional and behavioral, then proposed three hypotheses about the relationship between emotions and the unsafe behavior. we use E-prime software and Tobii Eye Trackers to measure the data of unsafe behavior in different emotions. The study introduces the eye-tracking technology to assess the ability of unsafe behavior, to measure the reaction parameters in the negative emotion, neutral emotion and positive emotion. In additional, the correct response rate, reaction time, for the first time into the time, fixation duration, gaze, etc. are used as a percentage of the miners under emotional behavioral assessment indicators. Final results showed that Reaction time and speed of response are affected miners emotion. In the negative emotions, the miners response to unsafe behavior slowly; in positive emotions miners response to unsafe behavior faster. Miners first noticed unsafe behavior in negative emotions longest, in positive emotions the miners first noticed unsafe behavior shortest. Miners want to reduce unsafe behavior caused by emotional, it is necessary to maintain a happy, cheerful mood, avoiding and controlling negative emotions. Finally, according to the experimental results, we put forward the measures of prevention and control unsafe behavior from the management and the miners themselves on two levels,which provide new ideas and methods for controlling the miners unsafe behavior.
