| Hulan river is a major tributary in the left bank of the Songhua river. It is also one of the largest inland river in Heilongjiang province. It offers water for the production and living near the river and have an important influence on the development of economy and society. However, the water quality of Hulan river has been polluted and unable to meet water quality standards, due to the rapid development of industrial and agricultural economy. The water pollution problem of Hulan river has been the key factor restricting the development of the region`s economy and society.This paper firstly carried on the water quality monitoring and evaluation of Harbin section of Hulan river. The results show that most of the monitoring section is class V water could not meet the water quality standards. Then, emission load of all kinds of pollution sources near the river were investigated. The amount of emission load which flow into the river was calculated. The results show that emissions of COD, NH3-N, TN, TP into Hulan river reached 12347t/a, 640t/a, 1735t/a, 123t/a respectively and the Laocheng municipal water system and Zhaolanxin tributary were the major pollution sources.Then, the water quality model of Hulan river was established through WASP software and the validity of the model was tested. The regularities of pollutants distribution were investigated through this model. The water environmental capacity of COD and NH3-N for Hulan river was calculated by model trial and error. The reduction amounts of COD and NH3-N for Hulan river were also calculated.Finally, a comprehensive treating project of Hulan river was formulated. A series of pollution control measures for different pollution sources were established. |
