Study On Viscous Foam For Mine Fire Prevention

Mine fire is one of the main disasters and a serious threat to the mine safety production,which can not only destroy or freeze plenty of coal resources and often cause secondary disasters in coal mine production.Retarding foam and triphase foamy,along with foamed gel,are the main ways to prevent coal mine spontaneous combustion at home and abroad.The stability of retarding foam is poor,which often burst before reaching the destination.The stability of triphase foamy is not high,but it is especially suitable for filling larger space of mined-out area because of the big bubble flow. The cost of gel foam is relatively high,but it has strong stability.In this article,viscous foam is studied base on the actual need of coal mine production process,which has the good effect of preventing and extinguishing the fire because of the hight stability,strong adhesiond and so on.Firstly,this paperstudied the formula of the viscous foam.The properties of foaming agent and foam additives are studied using the Waring Blender method in the laboratory,which are based on the mechanism of foam formation and complex surfactant.The characteristic curves of foaming agent and foam additives are are drawn.The additives which can greatly improve the viscosity of foam, foaming ability and stability are fond.Finally,the best formula of viscous foam are got.The fire extinguishing experiment of dump and foam accumulation is tested outdoors.The accumulation experiment shows the good accumulation and high stability of foam.The fire extinguishing experiment of dump shows the superior fire extinguishing performance of high viscous foam,which can quickly cut off the supply of oxygen and accelerate the fire put out.In order to make it more efficient foam and can better close to the mine actual application conditions,the foaming process and device are optimized along with the experiment.The mine viscous foam material not only has the advantages of the traditional fire extinguishing material but also can overcome the disadvantage of foam low stability and strong flowability. Viscous foam, which was set up to adapt a series of fire prevention and extinguishing problems, can solve the fire prevention and extinguishing problems such as covert fire in gob, perch fire, fire in tunnel top collapse and large-scale fire prevention and extinguishing in gob, etc.
