Pressure vessels are widely used in gathering and transportation of offshore oil and gas. Because of the narrow space of marine platform, the densely distributed pressure vessels and high risk of oil-gas gathering and transportation system, the problem happens in any link may cause heavy casualties,economic losses and marine environment pollution accidents. National and foreign scholars had a wide range of research on the ordinary pressure vessel risk, the cause of the accident and safety evaluation method and get abundant results, but the research on the pressure vessels in the special circumstances of the offshore platform is relatively less. So, the safety assessment of pressure vessels on the offshore platform is particularly critical.First of all, collect the accident data of marine platform pressure vessels, the equipment accident data, accident causes and characteristics of special pressure equipment in recent years, according to the Heinrich’s accident factors theory, identify the main risk factors of offshore platform pressure vessel accidents. It is concluded that the main factors include personnel quality, vessel equipment, safety management, environmental factors and so on. Considering special pressure equipment safety management, a set of universal and complete offshore platform pressure vessel safety evaluation index system is built.Secondly, through comparing and analyzing the advantages and disadvantages of several safety assessment methods and its application conditions, in terms of the multi-level and fuzzy uncertainty characteristics of offshore platforms pressure vessels,we find the several suitable methods of offshore platform pressure vessel safety evaluation, such as analytic hierarchy process, gray relational analysis method and so on. After the scientific and rational improvement, combination and research, the offshore platform pressure vessel safety evaluation method based on IAHP and gray relation is made.Then, using the above methods evaluate the safety of Storage tanks on a offshore platform, determine the level of security: the quality of employees, safety grade is III,vessel equipment is III, safety management is III, environmental factors is II, tank safety is III. In terms of safety awareness, emergency rescue ability, corrosion protection measures, container manufacturing and other evaluation results, the corresponding preventive measures are put forward. It can provide reference for thesafety management of offshore platform and theoretical basis for the safety assessment of pressure vessels in the offshore platforms, and it has certain engineering practical value.Finally, we used MATLAB GUI software design and development the offshore platform pressure vessel safety assessment software.
