In order to satisfy people’s requirements for comfortable summer clothing and achieve low-carbon life, developing the fiber which has cool function has become the focus of the chemical fiber industry. Polyamide 6 fiber(usually known as PA6)has good moisture absorption,which benefits to development of cool fiber. There is a great market potential for cool polyamide 6fiber.Nanometer jade powder, Al N and Si C were selected as cool functional powder, and they were surface treated by silane coupling agent KH550. The cool PA6 resin was obtained by melt blending, amount of powder is 0.5wt% ~ 1wt%; then cool functional powder/PA6 composite films and cool PA6 fibers were prepared. The properties of PA6 resin, fiber and fabric were characterized by various method. The main conclusions are as follows:(1)After surface treating, the size of powder decreases and the distribution becomes narrower,mainly between 400 ~ 600 nm, oil absorption obviously decreased. The reflectivity of near-infrared of Al N powder is the highest among three kind of powders,reaching 76.6%;(2)The warm-cool feeling results showed that the Q-max value of composite films is related to the thermal conductivity of the powder. The higher thermal conductivity of powder, the greater Q-max value.The modified effects of blended powder were significantly higher than the effect of a single modified powder. The Q-max value of blend of PA6 film modified by Al N powder and jade powder is 0.527,which is the highest Q-max value of samples.(3)With the increase of functional powder content, the mechanical properties of the fibers decreases.With the increase of draw ratio in the range 2.5 to 4.0, the fiber breaking strength increased from 2.2 c N/dtex to 4.0 c N/dtex, when spinning speed is 600 m / min, a reasonable draw ratio is 3.5-4.0. At the same draw ratio, with the amount of powder increasing, fiber orientation and crystallinity decreased.(4)The Q-max value of PA6 fabric modified by blend of Al N powder and jade powder is0.162, which is the highest value. Infrared thermal imaging test showed that the higher the thermal conductivity of the powder, the slower fabric heating, and fabric made by cross shaped fiber has faster warming speed and slower cooling speed.(5)The wicking height of fabrics made by circular shaped fiber is about 60 mm, the wicking height of fabrics made by cross shaped fiber reached 102 mm which meets the national standards of fabric moisture absorption. Quick-dry performance of all samples meet the national standards of speed dry fabric. Quick-dry performance of fabric made by cross shaped fiber is better than that made by circular shaped fiber.
