Research And Design On Freestyle Machine Embroidery By The WILCOM Embroidery Software

The Embroidery has a long history in China. Because of the different region and nation, it has various development, diverse craft and species, which has a very high artistic value. However, the manual embroidery is gradually replacing by machanical embroidery on account of low efficiency manual embroidery cannot satisfy the needs of increasing embroidery demand. Nevertheless, compared with diversity manual embroidery, the pattern of the machanical embroidery is single and rigid, the reason is that the design of the mechanical embroidery is restricted by the mechine and software. In order to change this situation, this project attempted to mimic the manual disorderly embroidery stitches of it’s process characteristics and performance, changed orderly stitches into disordered by using the existing hardware and software machine embroidery equipment,and developed the freestyle machine embroidery products with virtual-real fusion, elegant and unique.Firstly, this project analysised the characteristics of WILCOM embroidery software and mechanical equipment through research and comparation, and explored a way to use point stitch to show the effect of freestyle machine embroidery with disordered stitches based on many experiments. Secondly, through the WILCOM software research on stitch combination, parameter setting, needle position, color overlay, yarn selection and combination of printing, this paper summarized the methods and design experience of freestyle machine embroidery. Subsequently, the study design and make four sets based on this paper’s experiment conclusion, and the works can present good impressionistic effect, which effectively verified the accuracy of the conclusions of thid study. Finally, the project compared time costs of each stitch on WILCOM software, point stitch in different layers, and the combination with printing, which effective verificates the time cost feasibility of freestyle machine embroidery.By explorating this freestyle machine embroidery, this study broadened machine embroidery direction of pattern design, because traditional machine embroidery design was limited to plane figure and fill stitches carft. So the freestyle machine embroidery can achieve the performance of disordered stitches and virtual-real fusion, and the embroidery pattern may have more colors and artistic effects. At the same time, the study of this freestyle machinge embroidery blended in the principle and craftsmanship of traditional manul disordered stitches. Therefore, studying freestyle machine embroidery not only inherit the essence of traditional manul disordered stitches, but also make the disordered stitches works be lower prices and higher production efficiency into public life. Hope it can also increase the focus of embroidery products.
