In recent years, the rapid growth of China’s national economy and accelerated pace of urbanization have caused the violent consumption of natural resources and damage of geological environment, and makes the human survival environment worse and worse. In the relationship between human and the geological environment, human beings are in the relatively active status, if the human race does more in transforming the geological environment than itself bearing capacity and it will cause serious environment geological problems to threaten human’s survival and development. So, we urgently need to know whether the regional geological environment is well or not, and thus ensure the coordination among the town construction, economic development and geologically environmental protection.This paper takes Suide County in Shaanxi province as an example, on the basis of field investigation and the collection of related information, expounds the physical geographical, background of geological environment and environmental geologic problems in this region, and on this basis emphatically analyses and summary the distribution of geological hazards in the region, the development characteristic, forming conditions and influencing factors and so on.Through the analysis of the above research, using the pairwise comparison method to select eight elements: slope height index, gradient index, slope aspect index, the types of rock mass, the average annual precipitation, vegetation coverage, geological hazard spots density and the density of human engineering as evaluation factors, and combined with analytic hierarchy structure model to established the geological environmental quality evaluation system which composed by target layer, criterion layer and index layer, and according to the actual situation in the studied area to carry on the quantitative evaluation indexes for grading. On this basis, using analytic hierarchy process to determine the weight value of each evaluation index, and combined with fuzzy comprehensive evaluation method to establish evaluation model to the Suide geological environmental quality comprehensive evaluation. According to the result of the geological environment quality evaluation, the geological environmental quality of this area will divide into four grades: good, better, poor, poorer and finally by using the ArcGIS software to map out Suide’s geological environmental quality division, so that it will provide reliable evidence of the engineering construction and geological environment protection in the research area.Compared the geological environmental quality evaluation of partition results with the field survey investigation, we know that the evaluation results are general compliance with the actual investigation, and the selected evaluation indexes and the evaluation methods are reasonable, reliable, and with strong practicability.
